Drift was a police drama from Touchstone Television and Brancato/Salke. It centers around New York Police Detective Ray Hakansovich. Here is the summary from tv.com
Ray suffers from a form of post-traumatic stress insomnia called a narcoleptic drift, which causes him the loss of his long-term memory. This drift helps give him an edge in solving homicides by giving him a photographic memory, but it also causes him to have vivid hallucinations of his deceased daughter who he sees at the crime scenes. Ray wanders through New York at night mourning for his daughter and trying to figure out how to get his wife back.
Drift was in consideration for the 2006/2007 season but unfortunately wasn't picked up by ABC.
Jason later went on to work with director Paul W. S. Anderson in Resident Evil Extinction.
